2. With the upcoming cold front, pipes are at a higher risk of freezing. The best practice is to leave a faucet running at a slow stream to prevent this.
Frozen pipes at your house is not the village’s responsibility.
In the event a water pipe freezes and bursts, and you are unable to shut your water off to repair the damage, the DPW crew may be able to shut your water off at the street. However, there will be a fee to turn the water off and on, and with the poor weather conditions and ongoing construction projects, the response time will be slower than normal.
