Mayor Ashley Schumaker (4-year term expires 2028)
I was born "Ashley Chase" and have lived in the village my entire life (except 6 months when I was a teenager). I spent my early childhood growing up on Elm Street next to Cattaraugus Container where my dad worked. During my teen years, I lived on Riggs Street (right by the school). Since 2013, I have lived on Maple Avenue with my husband, Eric and 6-year-old son, Alex. In 2018, I left my career in the corporate world to own and operate Rizzo's Pizzeria. Since 2017, I have served as a trustee for the village serving as Deputy Mayor from 2022-2024. I am honored to hold the title Mayor for the Village of Franklinville.
During this time, I actively participated, learned the ropes, and served as an advocate for residents. I have assisted in many things including but not limited to playing an active role in securing the necessary information for the capital water/sewer project to update our aging infrastructure and assisting Superintendent of Public Works Cary Hatch with securing the necessary easements needed to begin the water updates to provide service to Great Lakes Cheese. I regularly communicate with residents, business, and property owners regarding village matters including but not limited to one-time issues, basic questions, general updates on what is happening, etc.
My family, faith, and work are very important to me and are integrated into my daily life. These values guide my actions and decisions. As Mayor, I will lead this village by listening, working alongside a team, creating open lines of communication, and always having the best interest of the residents.
